How it connects
The rectangular tubular stair riser ends slide into the splice channel receiver cavities and are clamped and secured through pre-punched square/round holes using transverse carriage bolts, washers, and nuts.
Male and female halves
Female splice sleeve/channel connector receiving two male rectangular tubular steel stair riser ends.
Usually connects to
- Matching PEAK steel stair-riser/stringer insertion end, including 4-, 5- and 6-step powder-coated tubes
- PEAK 2610/2611 connector
Common sizes
- PEAK profiles are described as about 2 × 3 in with a 51.6 × 72.8 mm clear opening, and as 2 × 3.5 in (50.8 × 88.9 mm) tubing. Confirm the specific riser profile before choosing a splice.

- PEAK 2611 (for 7-step risers)
- Peak 2611 connector (for 7-step stringers)
How to recognise it
Matte black powder-coated rectangular C-channel/sleeve with an integral central post saddle bracket and four transverse carriage bolt holes (two per riser end).
Often confused with
| Confused with | How to tell them apart |
|---|---|
| Channel strut splice | Channel strut (Unistrut) fittings use continuous inward lips and spring nuts; PEAK 2610 is a smooth rectangular sleeve with an integral column saddle bracket. |
| Square tube splice | PEAK 2610 is rectangular (roughly 2x3 in profile) with specific bolt hole spacings matching Peak stair stringers, rather than square structural tube. |
| standard timber stair stringer hanger bracket | Timber hangers are open sheet-metal brackets for mounting wood 2x10/2x12 lumber to a ledger, whereas this is a rigid tubular/channel steel inline splice sleeve specifically designed for Peak modular steel stringers. |
