How it connects
The male box rail slides longitudinally into the open-ended C/inverted-U channel sleeve. A top clamping/lag bolt tightens down against the top of the rail to secure and lock it in place, while the bottom inward lips support the rail flanges.
Male and female halves
Female sleeve/socket that encloses the exterior profile of a male rectangular box rail track.

Common sizes
- Box-track profiles vary: listed outer sections include about 2 × 2.25 in (51 × 57 mm), 2-1/4 × 2-7/8 in, and ranges of 1-1/4–2-1/4 in wide × 2-1/4–3-1/8 in tall.
- Sleeve cavities range around 40 × 38–55 × 58 mm; another section example is 32 × 77 mm. Match the exact box-rail profile.

How to recognise it
Recognised as an inverted U-shaped steel sleeve (often galvanized or powder-coated) with horizontal inward-turned retaining lips at the bottom opening, leaving a central clearance slot for trolley hangers, often featuring a threaded clamping screw or bolt on top.
Often confused with
| Confused with | How to tell them apart |
|---|---|
| Unistrut / Strut Channel fitting | Strut channel is an open U-channel with continuous inward lips facing upward/outward; box rail brackets enclose an inverted-U box rail where trolleys roll internally and trolley hanger bolts exit through the bottom slot. Box rail track and sleeves have tall side walls with bottom lips sized specifically for door hanger trollies, unlike standard 1-5/8 in square or shallow unistrut channel profiles. |
| Round rail bracket | Round rail brackets wrap around a tubular round track rather than a rectangular box profile. |
| standard box rail support bracket | Splice brackets feature two top clamping bolts and extra width to hold two butt-jointed track segments together, whereas standard support brackets typically feature only one clamping screw. |
| round track splice bracket | Round track brackets have a cylindrical sleeve profile rather than a rectangular / square C-channel box profile. |
| Standard Box Rail Hanger Bracket | Splice sleeves feature dual set screws or wider saddle bodies designed specifically to bridge and clamp across the joint of two butt-ended track sections rather than supporting a continuous track. |
